2006 NAMM Summer Session - Austin, Texas

NAMM’S INTERNATIONAL FASTEST DRUMMER???

NAMM International continues its quest to find the Worlds Fastest Drummer ®. This highly charged Interactive Event is a feature at this year’s Summer NAMM Session in Austin, Texas, July 14-16. The contest which consist of two categories, Battle of the Hands ™ and Battle of the Feet ™ will be held each day on The NAMM Fastest Drummer 4th Street Lobby Stage at the Austin Convention Center starting at 11:00am Friday, July 14th, with “heats” continuing through Saturday until 5.00pm. The top ten Fastest Hands and top ten Fastest Feet will compete in a ‘Finals Battle’ Sunday, July 16th.

Included in this year’s event will be technical demonstrations, insight sessions and appearances by WFD Champions and World Record Holders Johnny Rabb (Deana Carter, Tanya Tucker, SheDaisy, Maynard Ferguson), Tim ‘The Missile’ Yeung (Nile, Hate Eternal, Vital Remains), and Randy Briggs (WFD & DCI Champ). “To see these guys with World Records of 1200 strokes in a minute go at it, full throttle, smooth as silk with their hands and feet moving over 20 times per second for a full 60 second run is simply an amazing work of technical proficiency.” says Boo McAfee, co-founder of WFD Extreme Sport Drumming ®.

NOTE that WFD Champions are NOT competing in the contest and are ineligible for prizes.

Also appearing will be winners of the Miss WFD Austin 2006 title, Ivy Lynn and Kristin Maverick!

CONTEST RULES
1.
All contestants for both Battle of the Hands ™ and Battle of the Feet ™ competitions will be scored on playing single strokes (no bounces, presses or buzz) for ONE MINUTE and recorded by the Drumometer™.
2. Contestants may run as many times as they like during the Preliminary Heats.
3. Contestants' top Preliminary score will be used toward Finals qualifying.
4. Preliminary scores will NOT be used to determine Grand Prize winners!

5. FINALS scores will be the ONLY scores used to determine GRAND PRIZE winners.
6. NOTE that WFD Champions AND previous GRAND PRIZE winners are ineligible for prizes.
7. Judges decisions are final!

Contestants should sign in at the NAMM Fastest Drummer 4th Street Lobby Stage at the Austin Convention Center starting the morning of Friday, July 14th.
